Two of the brightest Muslim stars in the English Premier League — French striker Demba Ba and Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Salah — play for the same club. And the pair was instrumental in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Swansea City on Sunday that left the Blues two points behind EPL leader Liverpool in the standings.
Ba scored the only goal of the match, while Salah played the entire 90 minutes in just his second start for Chelsea since coming over from FC Basel of the Swiss Super League.
Salah had a hand in all three of Chelsea’s goals in his first start last week. Against Swansea City, the 21-year-old missed a couple of shots on goal, but put his teammates in position to score with solid passes. Ba, 28, found the back of the net in the 68th minute — then knelt to the ground to pray — to give Chelsea all the scoring it would need for the day.
