While the 2014-15 version of the Houston Rockets chase the franchise’s third NBA championship — they currently sit tied 1-1 with the Los Angeles Clippers in their Western Conference semifinal series — the man who led the Rockets to their first two titles has been getting a lot of TV airtime via old video clips and as a courtside spectator.
The 1993-94 and ’94-95 NBA seasons mark the peak of Hakeem Olajuwon‘s basketball career. During that stretch he averaged around 27 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks per game; picked up league MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards; and was named MVP of the ’94 and ’95 NBA Finals, in which he outplayed superstar centers Patrick Ewing and Shaquille O’Neal, respectively, while cementing his status as a legend in the sport.
